Accounting
The Accounting Department is responsible for all general accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, equipment/fixed asset accounting and all other general ledger accounting and reporting. They also prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

AI Production Center
We have two state-of-the-art boar studs located in Indiana and Minnesota. Our AI Production teams collect, process, and package boar semen that is used to supply our sow farms in the Midwest.

Construction / Maintenance
The NFP Construction and Maintenance staff are responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems at all our sow farms and grow/finish sites. They perform highly diversified tasks related to heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, locksmithing, welding and other miscellaneous duties. NFP Construction is the general contractor for our internal and external projects.

Environmental Services
The Environmental Services Department is responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory standards for all NFP facilities. Areas of responsibility include nutrient management, emergency response, new site development, permitting, water conservation, and public relations.

Feed Mill Operations
Our feed mills are located in Minnesota, Iowa, and Indiana within close proximity to our farms. Our Feed Mill Operations exist solely for the feed needs of NFP farms and are responsible for the receiving of grain and other ingredients, manufacturing of feed, and feed delivery to the farms.

Feed/Commodity Purchasing
This department supports the sow farm and grow/finish production by assisting with feed formulation, budgeting, feed ordering and ticket processing, verifying pricing, feed company comparison, and reporting. It oversees all grain, LP, and feed additive purchasing for the company, which supply our 4 feed mills.

Human Resources
The Human Resources Department supports production services by designing, planning and implementing programs and policies in order to meet employee needs and comply with state and federal requirements. This includes recruiting, training, safety, worker’s compensation, benefits, payroll, and employee relations.

Information Systems
The Information Systems team utilizes the most advanced technology available to collect and provide data, connecting our systems geographically, streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and reducing costs. This team possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills while communicating difficult concepts in user-friendly terms. They create systematic solutions to support and sustain the company's strategic business needs.

Live Hog Sales and Marketing
The Marketing Department directs and oversees all aspects of pig flow and live hog sales to maximize company profitability. They work closely with the Transportation Department for the most efficient movement of feeder, and market pigs. The Marketing Specialists work in specific flows of pigs and direct the loads based on the weights of the pigs.

Production Management
Our Production Management team consists of the Director of Production, Sow Service Managers, Grow/Finish Supervisor, Veterinarian, Animal Well-Being and Quality Assurance Manager, Sow Farm Managers, Grow/Finish Service Managers, Boar Stud Managers, Nutritionist and Wean Pig Specialists. Their responsibilities include working with our staff and growers to establish and maintain production targets and goals, while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Production Records
The Production Records Department supports the sow farm and grow-finish teams, working closely with the transportation and accounting departments. They collect weekly data to organize and prepare reports that are returned to the management teams for analysis. Data collected consists of farrowing data, pig movements and monthly inventories.

Purchasing
The Purchasing Department is responsible for purchasing all animal health products and supplies used in our Production facilities.

Sow Farm Production
Our sow farm production teams oversee all daily aspects of a sow herd including Farrowing, Breeding/Gestation, Internal Multiplication and Gilt Development. They maintain production targets by providing individual sow and piglet care, managing herd health and nutrition, accurate recordkeeping, and continual staff development.

Transportation
This department generates NFP’s weekly schedule of livestock movements throughout our production system. Schedules are set to follow the NFP bio-security protocols while meeting the needs of the packing plants and the NFP marketing team. They collect and analyze the data received following market and internal movements. All loads are scheduled in compliance with NFP standards as well as federal and state DOT guidelines.

Wean to Finish Production
NFP offers two contract arrangements that facilitate the wean-to-finish process for our pigs. As an Independent Contractor, the farmer contracts with NFP to place pigs in the farmer's facility where they provide care for the pig's daily requirements. In a Manager Service Agreement, we contract with someone to provide daily care for pigs at several sites that are owned by NFP. Our on-site employees, work directly for NFP and provide daily care for pigs. Our managers implement daily pig care and facility maintenance using established protocols and procedures in accordance with the NFP Grower Pig Manual.
